Rachel Zemanek

Founder & Executive Director

Rachel was born and raised in Leelanau County, but spent much of my twenties living in CA, CO, and NC. Moving away helped her understand what makes this region so special - its natural beauty, creative energy, and a strong sense of community.

Rachel is the founder of The Folded Leaf Foundation and a former paramedic and firefighter. She believes in the power of community and helping people feeling less alone.

When she’s not working, you'll find her reading, exploring, or sharing a meal and good conversation with friends and family.

Kimberly Robinson

Creative Director

Kimberly Robinson is an artist and nature lover who enjoys all things creative. Originally from Arizona, she found herself charmed by the Traverse and Leelanau County area 7 years ago and hasn't left since. She spends her days working at a ceramics studio for a local artist, and is currently pursuing her own art business dreams as well. Kimberly is reading Traversal by Maria Popova, a study on what it means to be alive through the lens of science, history and love. 


TuKlor Williams

Strategic Director

Tuklor is an independent filmmaker, devoted family man, and grassroots community advocate committed to creating films that amplify overlooked voices and inspire meaningful change. As the founder of Broken Pencil Pictures, he blends documentary filmmaking with community engagement, exploring themes of environmental justice, resilience, and cultural preservation. Rooted in authentic relationships and lived experiences, his work combines cinematic storytelling with real-world advocacy to educate, challenge, and connect audiences. Tuklor believes stories can strengthen communities, preserve history, and inspire action for future generations.

Samantha Boynton

Community Outreach Director

Samantha is a whimsical, multi-passionate, mood-reading creative who loves words; the worlds they create and the emotions they elicit. She is a Northern Michigan native who boomeranged back after spending her 20’s living abroad in three different countries, and an entrepreneur who began High Hopes Consulting upon her return. She now lives in Leelanau County with the love of her life, Jared, and their long-sought and deeply cherished rainbow baby, Mira. Sam just finished The Antiquarian’s Object of Desire by India Holton, and is waiting for her next read to find her. 

Adam S. Peters

Donor Coordinator & Director

Adam S. Peters is the author of "The Blueprint to Happy", a motivational speaker & trainer, and creator of the Community Happiness Project. He is a native to St. Petersburg, Florida with roots stretching back to Michigan, where he often spends his summers to reconnect with family, friends, and nature. Speaking on topics of hope, purpose, and the meaning of life, Adam helps empower people to live lives full of meaning and positivity, to pursue life's beauty, and to touch their grief in the best way possible. Currently, Adam is reading "Alone" -- a short story anthology written by Scottish authors set in and around Edinburgh on themes relating to the loneliness epidemic.
